Installation and troubleshooting

How do I install Wizards’ Club on Android, or use it on a computer?

On Android, open Wizards’ Club in Chrome with a connection, tap ⋮, choose the install option and confirm with Install. On a computer the app works in an ordinary browser tab, and Chrome can also install it in its own window. Not every browser can install web apps, and you do not need to install it to use it.

Install on Android

  1. Open Chrome and go to the Wizards’ Club app with a connection.
  2. Tap ⋮ to the right of the address bar.
  3. Choose Install and create shortcut. The wording differs between Chrome versions and languages; older versions use similar wording such as Install app.
  4. Confirm with Install. The icon appears on your home screen and in your app list. Open the app from there from now on.

Chrome sometimes offers to install the app by itself, at the bottom of the screen. Accepting that does the same.

The installation guide in the app

Play → Install app opens the browser’s own install question straight away when the browser offers direct installation, as Chrome does on Android and on a computer. Confirm with Install; it then says Installed! Open the app from your home screen from now on. In the installed app, Install app no longer appears.

When the browser does not offer it (yet), a guide opens with an iPhone & iPad tab and an Android tab. If the offer arrives later, Install now appears at the top of the guide and opens the same question. After installing, it says Installed! Check your home screen.

On a computer the guide opens on iPhone & iPad. Its steps are written for phones; for a computer, use the steps below.

On a computer

  • Use it in a browser tab. Open the app address in a current browser. The counter and the account features work there too, and once the app has loaded it also opens without a connection.
  • Install it in Chrome if you want it in its own window: ⋮ → Cast, save, and share → Install page as app…, or the install button in the address bar when Chrome shows one.
  • Other browsers may offer something similar, or nothing at all. The app then works just as well in a tab or from a bookmark.

Removing it again

  • Android: open Settings → Apps, choose the app and tap Uninstall. Menu names can differ per manufacturer.
  • Chrome on a computer: in the app window, open ⋮, choose to uninstall Wizards’ Club and confirm with Remove. Leave Also delete data from Chrome unticked unless you also want this device’s table and unsent changes gone.

Look at Play first: when it shows Still to sync: or Needs attention, deleting the data would remove those changes (see keep your game safe when closing or updating the app).

If it does not work

  • There is no install option in the menu. Let the app load completely once with a connection and look again. Some browsers cannot install web apps; use a tab or a bookmark there.
  • Install app opens the guide instead of the install question. The browser does not offer direct installation yet. Let the app load completely once with a connection and try again, or use the browser menu.
  • The app does not open without a connection. It has not loaded on this device with a connection yet. Open it once with reception.
